Golf Ball Logo Test

I'm in Motion Graphics, researching logo design for an upcoming project and ran across this article which had some great tips. I'm considering designing a logo for a golf learning center, sports equipment company or sports coverage network. Can't decide, but these are still great tips for any logo design.
